Spa-goers gather in their fluffy robes at the Skaná Café, a cozy place for a fresh and healthy breakfast and lunch, refreshing smoothies and herbal tea. The elegant Wildflowers Restaurant, perhaps the finest restaurant between New York and Chicago, serves Continental cuisine with a contemporary flair. Downstairs, bubbling pools of mineral water designed in a traditional leaf shape soothes the body and spirit. Stone accents a cedar-lined sauna billowing steam as purifying oils and water’s healing powers take hold. Separate spa lounges for men and women and coed mineralized soaking pools enrich the spa journey.

Hand-crafted dream catchers are showcased in 12 spacious treatment rooms, symbolizing the spiritual side of Skaná Spa as a peaceful retreat. The creations portray Oneida legends like brave warrior Black Crow, whose Native American flute music fills the room during treatments.

This summer, Skaná unveiled a sweat lodge made of red willow branches draped with buffalo hides. Guests can experience an authentic Sweat Lodge Ceremony featuring storytelling, drumming, chants and prayers that have been used for centuries as a way of spiritually cleansing body and soul.

Spa packages offer privacy and upscale amenities wich include access to gourmet dining, express check-in and concierge services for the array of other amenities limited only by the imagination. The domed Golf Training Center features an all-weather driving range and simulator. Guests will discover tennis and racquetball courts tucked between lush, landscaped lawns. Sink into a comfortable, quiet corner of the Lodge’s Great Room prior to dinner at Wildflowers or one of Turning Stone’s 21 restaurants. Cross a sound-proof glass bridge and you’re steps from casino action.

Voted Best Golf Destination in the Northeast by Cigar Aficionado, Turning Stone’s five courses cater to the novist and the seasoned pro, highlighted by the Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone (designed by Tom Fazio), site of the PGA Tour’s 2007 Turning Stone Resort Championship. Shenendoah and Kaluhyat Golf Clubs at Turning Stone, designed by Rick Smith and Robert Trent Jones, Jr., respectively, both offer championship level play while sharing a full-service clubhouse staffed by resident pros. If you are squeezed for time, Pleasant Knolls (par 36) and Sandstone Hollow (par 27) are player-friendly nines. Turning Stone’s rolling greens and sprawling fairways are minutes from the spa, where a new world of relaxation awaits PGA Tour players arriving for the 2007 Championship in September.

Skaná’s world-class therapists offer before-and-after sports treatments that focus on specific muscle groups for golf, tennis, and running, as well as soothing face and body treatments to heal sun-damaged skin.

The state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor Tennis Pavilion features tennis, racquetball and an exercise facility. Easy-on-your-joints surfaces are identical to the U.S. and Australian Opens. Stretch your limits at the 10,000-square-foot fitness center equipped with the latest StarTrac cardio and strength training system and indoor pool for swimming laps and aquatic classes. Scheduled sessions of yoga, Tai Chi, aerobics and Pilates led by certified fitness trainers are held indoors and on the Lodge lawn.

Seasonal outdoor activities include scenic sunrise walks, guided hikes, hot air ballooning, fishing on the world-famous Salmon River, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Native American doll-making classes and storytelling by Oneida Nation members are offered throughout the year.

Open year-round, Skaná, the Spa At Turning Stone is co-ed with treatments and activities for men and women. Guests must be at least 17 years of age. Skaná is smoke-free, alcohol-free and cell phone-free. While Skaná Spa is reserved for overnight guests, day visits are permitted based upon availability.
