GOLF, THE PRIVILEGES OF A PRIVATE GOLF

Founded in 1993, the Golf at the Royal Mougins Golf Resort has become a reference in Europe: for the quality of its course and the technicality, but equally due to the preserved natural environment and the totality of its benefits and its high-end service. Usually reserved for Members, the course is open to hotel guests (limited to a handicap of 28 for men and 32 for women) by simple reservation and payment of a green fee offered at preferential rates.

This privilege permits to play on an 18-hole competition private golf course laid out over some 18,000 feet–6,004 meters (par 71). Its designers, Von Hagge, have cleverly employed the natural countryside, made up of hills and a wooded plain, to invent the lines and movements of this varied course, which includes 8 lakes linked by creeks and waterfalls.

Of course, the Royal Mougins Golf Resort offers all players a complete range of deluxe benefits: locker room, Pro Shop, Clubhouse, instructors, caddies, rentals… Finally, the new “Halfway-House” welcomes players for a break (with drinks, snacks and sandwiches) in the great outdoors at the turn.

RESTAURANT – LA TERRASSE DU 18 – INVENTIVE COOKING
An indispensable rendezvous, the restaurant “La Terrasse du 18” showcases the modern and inventive cooking of Tropezien Christophe LEROY, as executed by Philippe ARTAUD, chef of the “18.”
Throughout the year, within a sober and elegant setting, the menu plays with the seasons: Tuna-mango tartar with mango perfumed with pink ginger, Veal mignon in pastry, sauteed artichoke, flavoured with truffle-scented jus, Lobster-coriander spring roll, sliced shellfish vinaigrette, creamy chocolate Nems; Creamy chocolate nems…

CHRISTOPHE LEROY
The incontestable master of Mediterranean cooking puts his mark on the cuisine of the “La Terrasse du18.”

Barely 42 years old, Christophe Leroy today is counted among the very best chefs in French gastronomy. The reputation of his tables has already been made: Les Moulins de Ramatuelle, La Table du Marché in Saint-Tropez, La Palmeraie Palace in Marrakech, and 10 days annually in Cannes, during the Film Festival, at Restaurant La Plage. In 2001 he received the “Best Restaurateur of the Year” prize awarded by the Champérard guide.

Christophe Leroy’s culinary universe is outlined with the simplicity and refinement which distinguish Philippe Artaud’s culinary style. A dynamic chef (he arrives each day by running to “La Terrasse du 18” from his home in Mougins), this lover of Mediterranean cuisine – who stroked the appetites of guests at the Noga Hilton in Cannes for close to 10 years – also offers weekly suggestions based on what’s happening in the market.

PHILIPPE ARTAUD
The new Chef of “La Terrasse du 18” took up his duties at the end of March, 2008. A resident of the Var with a reputation for dynamism and creativity, he managed the stoves at the Noga Hilton in Cannes for the last 10 years. Chef de cuisine at the Hilton’s Sportive Beach during the 1990s, Philippe ARTAUD quickly won his spurs. Second de cuisine in 1993, he became Executive Chef at the Noga Hilton in 1999.

In the cellar, numerous world wines and Provence vintages await.
Winning virtue: The restaurant is graced by a terrace with an unobstructed view on the course and the Vallon de l’Oeuf.
