In the sixties R. Dean Taylor of Tamla-Motown fame, recorded a record called a "Ghost in my House." He could have called it a "Ghost in my Hotel Room", The Grove, one of the Leading Hotels of the World, prides on having a ghost in Room 15, could this be true? I went into CSI Horatio Caine mode to investigate, has Horatio would say to Alex, "I think Room 15, has an eerie interesting feel about it."

You hear a great deal about places to visit, and stay, many hotels are the same and even at five-star level it is hard to find little difference between any of them!

What makes The Grove that little different from the rest, I found out on a recent visit there. I decided to visit the resort with a very open mind, after an invitation from Tracey Greaves, the Director of Sales and Marketing, who I meet at the Walpole Luxury Society Event in London, I will talk about Walpole in a later article, and Katharine Walsh, Head of Press and the Public Relations Manager, to just absorb the atmosphere and facilities.

The driveway takes you through the lush green Hertfordshire countryside, cutting through the award-winning golf course and over the Grand Union Canal, which runs from Birmingham in the Midlands to The Thames in London, which passed through the grounds.

The Grove, the country estate opened in September 2003, it is set in a 300-acre of parkland, with lakes and woodland. The parkland dates back to the seventeenth century, and the mansion to the eighteenth, it was the home of the former Earl of Clarendon, a formal garden and a large Walled Garden, both of which were neglected during the latter part of the 20th-century, have been brought back to life, for today's visitors.
