Introducing Miracle Farm, Floyd County's newest addition to the area's wonderfully cozy and comfortable accommodations. What makes the Miracle Farm Bed & Breakfast Spa and Resort unique is its location on Miracle Farm, a non-profit Sustainable Living Center and Animal Sanctuary. Part of the revenue from the bed and breakfast goes to help fund the non-profit.

Miracle Farm is just 7 miles west of the center of the town of Floyd, VA known for its artisans and musicians, home of the weekly Friday Night Jamboree, FloydFest, a popular annual music festival, Chateau Morrisette and many other local points of interest.

Miracle Farm's mission is to create a sustainable environment in accordance with permaculture principles:

•Generate energy sources
•Grow organic food
•Build with recycled materials and those found on land
•Return to the earth all of organic refuse
•Purify and reclaim water supplies
•Restore health to forests
•Give unwanted and abused animals a place to live and thrive in a safe environment.

Your hosts, Karen Osborne and Ed Cohn have resided on this property since the end of January 2006, and are diligently creating the Miracle Farm dream, which is a work in progress..

As this transformation takes place visitors will be served available fresh, organic foods grown on the land and be able to observe the operations of Miracle Farm first hand. Participation is also encouraged!

Food:

Miracle Farm is committed to serving fresh, healthy food. They strive to use organic ingredients whenever possible and serve food that's locally produced and grown at Miracle Farm. Since Miracle Farm shelters and offers sanctuary to animals, they do not serve meat, but do offer delicious meat substitutes for their omnivorous guests.

Spa:

Medical Farm is fortunate to have health and fitness expert Karen Osborne on staff. Karen’s 20+ years of experience as a Pilates instructor and massage therapist can enhance client’s stay with healing massage and exercise. The well-equipped Pilates/exercise studio can accommodate a wide range of physical needs, and ending workout with a hot rock massage is a real treat indeed!

Grounds:

The property is beautiful and diverse. There are well maintained paths where you can stroll, hike or bike in a gorgeous country setting. These paths follow river, stream, woods and hills. The many species of birds will sing to you along the way and the diverse flora will entice the eye.

Birding/Fishing:

They have a huge bird population at Miracle Farm. You may see an assortment of waterfowl such as kingfishers and herons, owls and hawks, and many varied and colorful song birds that will call to you each morning too numerous to list. Though they are an animal sanctuary, the river is stocked with trout and they do allow fishing on site. Lures and flies only please.

Campfire:

They have a fire circle by the river where, when interested, guests can join in and make music, tell stories, and enjoy the convivial atmosphere. They have a good selection of hand percussion instruments for all to use and join in. No experience necessary - it’s all for fun!
