While the gentle sound of waves breaking and the aroma of salt water have long been used as relaxation techniques, Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa takes relaxation and pampering to a new level with Pacific Waters Spa located at the resort.

Featuring 21 treatment areas, the 20,000-square-foot spa is designed to emulate an elegant Spanish estate, complete with fountains and a koi pond. The sophisticated Pacific Waters Spa features a broad menu of treatments to delight the most savvy spa vacationer ranging from massages, skin therapies and body wraps to scrubs and moisturizing facials, all using preparations indigenous to Pacific Island culture.

While every Pacific Waters treatment is uniquely designed to provide complete mind, body and soul relaxation and rejuvenation, perhaps the rarest and most exotic treatment offered is Thalasso Hydrotherapy. From the Greek word thalassa, meaning "the ocean," the treatment replenishes the body's essential revitalizing natural elements and mineral salts, which leads to improved circulation through a warm bathing process utilizing fresh seawater. Due to the unique nature of the treatment and because seawater cannot be reconstituted, imitated or kept longer than 24 hours, Thalasso treatments are unique only to coastal spas.

Other unique treatments offered at Pacific Waters Spa include Mommy and Me facials and the Chocolate Kiss Hand & Foot Delight designed for children ages eight and older to experience alongside their parent in a dual treatment room. For men, the spa offers The Hops and Barley Double Play, which uses the therapeutic power of grains typically found in beer in a hand and foot rub which is followed by a scalp massage.

Designed with the needs of health-conscious guests in mind, the spa also features a health club with the latest state-of-the-art cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Fitness-minded guests also delight in more than eight miles of natural trails along the Pacific coastline. The spa is also home to a full-service beauty salon featuring cuts, coloring, perms and styling, as well as oedicures and manicures.

Following the Pacific Waters experience, guests can relax in soulful reflection at the spa's outdoor tropical garden or in one of the spa's secluded Grottos with private whirlpools nestled amongst lush landscapes. Additional amenities include dry saunas, steam rooms, men's and women's lounges w
ith private whirlpools and waterfall showers.
