Throughout its 132-year history, Kohler Co. has defined the frontiers of interior design, craftsmanship and technology. Kohler led the way in product design with a commitment to quality over a broad range of price points and respected brand names in furniture as well as kitchen and bath products. Today, the Kohler family of businesses includes the resort and recreation fields.
Destination Kohler began with the opening of The American Club hotel in a Tudor-style structure originally built in 1918 to house the company’s immigrant craftsmen. There were language lessons and an introduction to American lifestyles to help workers qualify for American citizenship. Now a 240-room hotel, The American Club is at the heart of a golf resort and residential community in The Village of Kohler, Wisconsin, close to the Kohler Design Center, The Shops at Woodlake, world-class golf courses, and workshops of Kohler Co.

Kohler Waters Spa launched a new tradition in 2000. Built into the former Carriage House, and recently expanded, the spa provides overnight packages as well as single day programs for men and women. An array of bathing rituals greets guests in the central atrium pool reflecting Roman origins of today’s spa. Bodywork and beauty treatments, mood-enhancing chromatherapy tubs, a slipper-shaped copper bathtub, and the traditional Scotch Hose shower stimulate the senses. From the 36-foot relaxation pool you pass an eight-foot waterfall to enter twenty-one water-themed treatment rooms. Guests relax in a rooftop whirlpool warmed by stone fireplace. Ranked among the best spas in America, the Kohler experience takes bathing to new heights.

Lodging at the Carriage House gives you direct elevator access to the spa. Eleven new “Immersion Suites” feature in-room spa services, sumptuous showers with multiple sprayheads, and a deck with two-person whirlpool bath. Continental breakfast and afternoon tea are complimentary (and evening cordials and hors d’oeurves. The American Club’s signature restaurant, The Immigrant, specializes in organic regional cuisine, seafood, Kohler Kobe Purelean beef, and Wisconsin cheese. Spa guests have free access to the resort’s Sports Core fitness center, and hiking trails in a nature preserve. Golf attracts top pros as well as recreational players on four courses, notably the Scottish links style Whistling Straits courses.

A member of Historic Hotels of America, and the only AAA five-star hotel in the Midwest, The American Club preserves traditions of hospitality and craftsmanship. Located an hour’s drive from Milwaukee or Green Bay, three hours from Chicago, the Village of Kohler is a championship experience.
