The Medical Spa at NOVA

Dr. Michael Scott, ND MSA LAc, joined NOVA Medical Group in October 2003. He is certified in naturopathic medicine by the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examination Board and is a licensed acupuncturist in the Commonwealth of Virginia, certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

NOVA patients now have the opportunity to explore naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and oriental medicine in collaboration between Michael and their primary care physician.

This form of integrative medicine helps patients achieve specific goals by offering additional options and combining various complementary services such as acupuncture, botanical medicine, nutrition consulting, integrated lifestyle counseling, and naturopathic care with conventional medical treatment. Michael practices relationship-centered, integrative medicine. In working with patients, he emphasizes the following concepts: identifying the underlying cause of a health problem, restoring and supporting the body's own healing process, treating the whole person and encouraging participation in the creation of one's own wellness and pursuing a meaningful life.

In conjunction with natural therapies, Michael seeks to educate and empower individuals with the knowledge to promote their innate healing abilities and achieve balance in their lives.
