La Jolla Spa MD is a landmark Medical Spa
where science & medicine bring the ultimate in rejuvenation

La Jolla Spa MD is a landmark medical spa where the major cosmetic breakthroughs of science and medicine are combined with art and creativity to bring the ultimate in rejuvenation. Founded in 2002 by world-renowned board certified dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Mitchel P. Goldman and Dianne York-Goldman, La Jolla Spa MD has been recognized by Allergan (the makers of Botox®), Medicis (the makers of Restylane®) and Cynosure Lasers as a “Center of Excellence.” Dr. Mitchel P. Goldman is a noted expert who is especially renowned for his pioneering research of multiple laser techniques, and for advancing the technique now widely used for successful results in liposuction procedures. Dr. Goldman is the current Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology/Medicine for University of California, San Diego, and has authored and co-authored 18 Textbooks as well as over 250 peer-reviewed publications, several of which are considered definitive medical texts in their respective fields.

As the President and CEO of La Jolla Spa MD, Dianne York-Goldman leads the staff with her appreciation for health and beauty, which is built on the foundation of her 20 year career as an accomplished model and actress. In addition to leading La Jolla Spa MD, Dianne York-Goldman is also the founder of “Cool Clenz” & “You Glow Girl!”- a teenage skin care company, and has co-authored the popular series “You Glow Girl! The Ultimate Health and Skin Care Guide for Teens,” and “Beauty Basics for Teens Journal,” with husband, Dr. Mitchel P. Goldman. Dianne’s most recent book, “Fun in the Sun Safely,” an illustrated children’s story, was awarded the distinguished Gold Triangle Award from the American Academy of Dermatology. Most recently, Dianne launched her namesake DYG Mineral Makeup line, which incorporates high-quality, anti-bacterial and sunscreen ingredients to provide the skin with a clean and natural solution to beauty.

Among being incredibly active within her local San Diego community as a philanthropist and leader, York-Goldman also utilizes her talents and reputation to educate and inform audiences worldwide about trends and developments within the health, beauty, and fashion industries, for which she is an experienced and knowledgeable expert.

Focused on continuing the development of her brands, Dianne has helped to secure media placements on the Today Show, E! Television, The Swan, and in leading publications that include O Magazine, InStyle, Elle, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, Self and Allure. She was a recipient of the San Diego Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business” and recently represented the city of La Jolla during a visit to Monaco. Due to the positive reception for the line, DYG was chosen as a Best of the International Beauty Show and is currently featured on their program on the Health and Beauty Channel.

La Jolla Spa MD offers clients a full range of cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures in its AAAHC accredited surgery suites, as well as cutting-edge cosmetic dermatology and spa treatments all under one roof. Southern California’s La Jolla Spa MD was voted the “Top Medical Spa in America” in a recent issue of American Spa Magazine. The honors were published in the first annual Professional's Choice Awards in the December 2005 issue.

The award carries La Jolla Spa MD into 2006 as the leader in the industry. “We were absolutely honored to accept this prestigious award from American Spa Magazine, a publication well respected by spa and medical professionals,’” says Dianne York-Goldman, the President and CEO of La Jolla Spa MD.

“Our landmark facility is home to cutting edge technology and an extensive research department. We incorporate signature spa therapies with medically supervised, cosmetic enhancement treatments to bring our patients and clients the ultimate in rejuvenation.”

The rapid growth of medical spas in America has been noted by several industry experts including Hannelore Leavy, who founded the International Medical Spa Association in 2002. Leavy estimates there are about 1,500 medical spas in this country in 2006, up from about 100 in 2002, making medical spas the fastest growing segment of the spa market.

Opening a medical spa within such a quickly evolving market can be both challenging, but also very rewarding, as long as key success factors are put in place.
